Functions and configuration
Project settings
Set up how your Project sends email, serve it on your own domain, and manage its lifecycle safely.
Email delivery
RustaBase sends verification, password reset, email change, and one-time code emails for your application users. Connect your own mail service so those emails come from your brand.
- Open your Project and select Email.
- Under Sender, enter the sender name and sender address, such as Acme <[email protected]>.
- Under SMTP, enter the host, port, username, and password from your mail provider.
- Choose the auth method (PLAIN or LOGIN) and turn on Always use TLS if your provider requires it.
- Save, then use Send a test message with a template to confirm delivery.
Verify the sender domain with your mail provider (SPF and DKIM) so messages are not marked as spam.
Custom domain
Every Project keeps its generated rustabase.net address. On paid plans you can also serve it on a domain you own, such as api.acme.com. RustaBase handles the certificate for you.
- Open your Project and select Custom domain.
- Select Add domain and enter the domain. A subdomain works best.
- Add the DNS record shown in the console at your domain provider.
- Save the domain and wait for the check to pass. This can take a few minutes while DNS updates.
- Update your app to use the new address. The generated address keeps working.
Settings from a server
const settings = await rb.admin.settings.get();
await rb.admin.settings.update({ meta: { appName: "Acme" } });
await rb.admin.settings.testEmail("users", "[email protected]", "verification");Lifecycle controls
- Refresh checks live status without changing anything.
- Changing plans upgrades your resource to the paid plan. Your Project address stays the same.
- Deleting a Project asks you to type its name first and then removes its data for good. Take a backup before deleting.
Change with care
- Tell your users before changing the domain your app uses.
- Send a test email after every SMTP change.
- Keep at least one workspace owner who can reach billing and recovery.
